Hourly Pay Range: $17.00 - $19.50
Little Schmidt Productions is a creative studio working across film, television, and digital storytelling. We develop audience-focused concepts, campaigns, and narrative experiences designed to connect strong ideas with culture, craft, and commercial impact.
Our corporate finance team supports strategic planning, financial analysis, budgeting, and business decision-making across the studio. We work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to help maintain financial discipline, support investment decisions, and provide insight into performance across projects and operations.
Our internship programme offers practical exposure to a professional studio environment where emerging talent can contribute to live finance workflows while gaining hands-on experience in analysis, reporting support, financial research, and internal planning across active business priorities.
Summary
We are looking for a Corporate Finance Intern to support financial analysis, planning materials, reporting support, and business research across active studio initiatives. This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills, close attention to detail, and a genuine interest in how financial strategy supports growth and decision-making within the entertainment industry.
This internship provides exposure to budgeting, forecasting, reporting preparation, and strategic finance support. The successful candidate will assist with working models, research, internal summaries, and cross-functional materials while gaining practical insight into how finance supports operational and creative business planning.
Responsibilities
- Assist with financial research, market analysis, and internal business support materials.
- Support preparation of planning documents, financial summaries, budget references, and presentation materials.
- Help organise and maintain spreadsheets, supporting schedules, and finance working documents.
- Contribute to the gathering of data used in forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis.
- Assist with variance tracking, reporting support, and internal financial references across active initiatives.
- Support preparation of materials for leadership review, internal meetings, and cross-functional finance discussions.
- Help maintain clear and organised records related to planning, analysis, and business support workflows.
- Attend team meetings and help capture notes, action points, and follow-up items.
- Assist with reviewing operational and financial information from a structured and detail-oriented perspective.
- Provide general support to the corporate finance team during active planning and reporting cycles.
Requirements
- Strong interest in finance, business strategy, analysis, and entertainment operations.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with data and spreadsheets.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort working with financial data, structured documents, and internal planning materials.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a collaborative environment.
- Strong curiosity about how finance supports growth, operations, and strategic decision-making.
- Confidence working both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
- Professional approach to communication, preparation, and task follow-through.
- Strong Excel or spreadsheet skills are highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous academic, internship, or project experience related to finance, accounting, economics, or business analysis.
- Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, or valuation concepts.
- Strong comfort with spreadsheets, formulas, and structured data analysis.
- Interest in the financial and strategic side of film, television, and creative businesses.
