Netflix has partnered with Legendary Entertainment to bring a live-action adaptation of the global hit My Hero Academia to the screen. The beloved manga and anime franchise, created by Kōhei Horikoshi, has gained immense popularity worldwide with its story of young heroes-in-training striving to protect society.

The film will be directed by Shinsuke Sato, best known for his work on Alice in Borderland, ensuring a visually striking and faithful interpretation of the source material. Joby Harold, who worked on Obi-Wan Kenobi and Army of the Dead, is set to pen the screenplay.

With its mix of action, heart, and the coming-of-age journey of aspiring hero Izuku Midoriya, My Hero Academia has all the elements to make a powerful transition from anime to live action. Legendary’s involvement, alongside Netflix’s global reach, signals a major step in adapting Japanese manga for an international audience.

This project marks another milestone in Netflix’s growing investment in live-action anime adaptations, following its work on titles like One Piece and Cowboy Bebop. Fans are eagerly awaiting how the heroic world of My Hero Academia will be reimagined for the big screen.
